Madelyn Esposito (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and Supervisor providing supervision, clinical consultation, and program consultation in sexual health. Her scholarship and research focus on sexual health knowledge, clinical communication, and care delivery in interdisciplinary medical environments. Her expertise has been cited by national and clinical media outlets including CNN, WebMD, and VICE, and she serves as the designated sexual health expert for the University of Wisconsin.

Professional Consultation

AASECT Supervision

Individual and group supervision for clinicians pursuing AASECT certification, with particular expertise in couples and sex therapy and the integration of EMDR in sexual health treatment. Supervision draws on extensive experience delivering sexual health care within medical and interdisciplinary systems and emphasizes clinical decision-making, relational dynamics, and the thoughtful use of countertransference in complex clinical contexts.

Clinical Consultation

Short-term individual or group consultation for clinicians navigating complex or nuanced sexual health presentations. Consultation is designed to deepen confidence in clinical judgment, clarify next steps, and empower clinicians across disciplines to discuss and address sexual health concerns with greater ease and competence, without entering an ongoing supervisory or certification-related relationship.

Program Consultation

Consultation for clinicians and organizations developing or refining sexual health programs or clinical services. This work draws on extensive experience creating and sustaining sexual health clinics within medical and interdisciplinary systems and focuses on translating clinical vision into practical, sustainable models of care. Areas of consultation may include program design, clinical scope, interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrating sexual health services within complex institutional environments.

Couples Consultation & Sex Therapy

Madelyn offers specialized couples consultation and sex therapy for partners navigating complex relational and sexual health concerns requiring advanced clinical expertise. This work is particularly well suited for couples whose concerns intersect with medical conditions, chronic illness, menopause, erectile dysfunction, sexual pain, or other medically influenced relational dynamics.

As an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and Supervisor, Madelyn teaches and supervises clinicians in couples and sex therapy and has extensive experience training psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and licensed professionals within interdisciplinary medical settings. Her approach integrates relational, psychological, and medical considerations and is especially helpful for couples seeking specialized sexual health expertise beyond traditional couples therapy.

This work is structured, formulation-driven, and focused on clarifying underlying dynamics, integrating relevant medical factors, and developing a thoughtful path forward. While many couples engage in shorter-term focused work, ongoing therapy may also be appropriate depending on clinical needs and goals.
